Early childhood special education aims to empower families to care for their children and access the resources they need to participate fully in education and community life. To achieve this, the Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) Center has identified five key family outcomes:
Families understand their child's strengths, abilities, and special needs.
Families know their rights and advocate effectively for their children.
Families help their children develop and learn.
Families have support systems.
Families access desired services, programs, and activities in their community.
These outcomes are interconnected and work together to support families in achieving their personal goals for their children. In this session, we will delve deeper into these key family outcomes identified by the ECO Center. Participants will learn to advocate for the necessary support and resources and track their child's development and progress toward these outcomes.
EYFLI is a 6-part series just for families. Participants must complete all 6 sessions to receive their certificate and toolkit of resources.
