Are you confused about the “alphabet soup” of acronyms that you hear during discussions about special education and/or children with special needs? Not sure what about the correct terminology to use when referring to a child or talking with parents? Do you wonder what exactly you or parents’ rights and responsibilities are when it comes to IDEA? Join us for this basic workshop which will decode those acronyms and define the most common and up-to-date terminology used in special education. We will also explain the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) including Part C (EI) and describe characteristics of the most common disabilities seen during the early childhood years.
