In this session, early childhood educators and special education educators will unwrap the cultural nuances of defining parental involvement. Using communities of practice dialogue circles, participants will evaluate current models used to measure parental involvement, rectifying gaps and identifying implications to defining parental involvement. Through the use of dialogue circles, participants will work together to create definitions that tailor to the communities they serve and discuss the benefits of redefining parental involvement in a way that honors and values ALL family cultures.
